Paediatric Eye Surgery Mission Successfully Concludes at Tamale Eye Hospital
Tamale Eye Hospital is proud to announce the successful completion of the Rotary-sponsored Paediatric Eye Surgery Mission, which took place from 30th May to 8th June 2026.
Over the course of the mission, children and adults with complex eye conditions received life-changing surgical care, offering renewed hope, improved vision, and a brighter future for many families across Northern Ghana and beyond.
The Mission Focused On:
- Major eye surgeries for children, from newborns to young adults
- Cataract surgeries in infants and children
- Squint (strabismus) surgeries
- Eye plastic and reconstructive procedures for adults
- Comprehensive specialist eye assessments and follow-up care
The impact of this initiative was evident in the smiles of patients, the relief of parents, and the successful outcomes achieved through the dedication of an exceptional international and local team.
A Partnership That Changed Lives
This remarkable mission was made possible through the generous support and collaboration of Rotary District 9104 Ghana, together with Rotary partners from Ghana, India, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States, as well as various foundations in India and the USA.
We extend our deepest appreciation to our Rotary partners, especially the dedicated teams from Rotary Clubs in India, whose commitment to eliminating avoidable blindness continues to make a profound difference in communities around the world.
