The Tamale Eye Hospital is a healthcare facility located in Tamale, Ghana. The TEH specializes in providing eye care services to the community in the Northern Region of Ghana.
We offer a wide range of services, including general eye examinations, diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, and refractive errors, as well as surgical procedures. We also provide outreach programs to rural areas to ensure access to eye care for underserved populations.

Our core values are the following :

  • Everyone must get similar quality of care regardless of whether they are paying for the services or getting them for free.
  • All patients are treated with professionalism, compassion and in a way to preserve their dignity.

From the Tamale Eye Hospital

There is a great need for eye health services In Northern Ghana, including blindness prevention and treatment. It is estimated that there are 200,000 blind people in Ghana and over 1 million suffering from some form of visual impairment. Fortunately, more than 80% of all vision impairment can be prevented or cured – even in resource poor settings.

Mission

The TEH Is to Consistently Provide Comprehensive and good quality eye care to all patients, regardless of their age, race, tribe, religion and financial status. Our services are easily accessible and affordable. We are also providing general eye health education to the population, and training eye care workers.

Vision

The TEH executive team believe in the power of partnerships with collaborating organizations to achieve its goals. These partnerships include national and international organizations. Right to Sight and Health and Vision for the Poor are already working with us and we will seek other partnerships as new actors enter the field of eye care in Ghana.
